KBK crane construction program
Why not move your goods without touching the floor?

The DEMAG KBK crane construction program makes it possible: economic and reliable transport handling solutions using the spare space above your work and production floor.

Roof-mounted, the KBK –line can transport your goods fast and efficiently without taking up floor space. You can position your production machines in a way that is best for production purposes.

The KBK-system consists of modular components. The basic element is a special hollow section supplied in various sizes characterised by low deadweight and high rigidity. Together with all the other components, it forms a building block allowing numerous combinations. Its flexibility and application possibilities turn it into a unique system that can be employed in virtually any situation.

The components are coupled by means of screw joints and can easily be fitted. As a result, a KBK-system can also simply be adapted to changing situations on the shop floor. An important argument, when you look at the future growth of your company.

Whether you require a mono-rail, single girder suspended crane, or double girder suspended crane, the KBK program makes it all possible. Bends and frog-points allow setting up complex mono-rail systems to move products along the assembly track.

The track can be mounted to metal trusses by means of special suspension mountings and clamps. Chemical anchors are used for concrete decks. Threaded rod suspensions ensure the track can be fitted to your roof at any required height. In case your roof is unable to cope with the load stress, floor-based portals may offer a solution.

The wheeled chassis with special roller bearings makes manual load movement easier, although electric drives are also a possibility.

We recommend and design problem-specific solutions, whilst taking your requirements into consideration. We deliver and install your KBK-system quickly and expertly, after which we are also at your disposal for annual inspections and maintenance.

KBK-ergo
As a result of ever increasing regulations with regard to working conditions and ergonomics, it is becoming more and more important to have a critical look at shop floor activities.

In addition to the KBK-program, DEMAG has developed a number of additional components called KBK-ergo.

Using KBK-ergo components, a KBK-track can be designed to deal with upward force. Consequently, we can manufacture cranes that also work outside the crane track using single girder travel cranes or extension cranes. A travel crane has a fixed direction of travel outside the crane track. An extension crane, on the other hand, can be extended outside the crane track at the required location; this comes in handy, in areas where a fixed direction of travel is not possible due to obstacles alongside the crane's track.

KBK-ergo components give KBK-tracks the stability required for exact positioning when using balancers and manipulators.

These newly developed components make it possible to handle loads with your body in the most comfortable position from an ergonomics point of view. Consequently, you not only comply with regulations but can also reduce absenteeism caused by, for instance, spinal complaints. It also means that repetitive activities can be carried out faster and more accurately.

The DEMAG KBK handling system can be used in cases where crane and hoist functions fail:
• Lifting and positioning tasks outside the crane track
• Loading of machines or platforms that are not accessible from above
• Delivery of work pieces, parts and components to the work station from every direction and any angle
• Moving work pieces into the required processing position

In short, you can not only configure virtually all activities ergonomically but also efficiently.

KBK-Aluline
The latest KBK-line development is the so-called KBK-Aluline. The KBK-Aluline consists of two aluminium track profiles. In this case, the biggest advantage is the extreme deadweight of the profiles, which is obviously reflected by the ease with which the cranes can be moved. It further substantiates the ergonomic principle, certainly by combining the Aluline profiles with KBK-ergo components.

Typical KBK-Aluline advantages:

• Extremely low deadweight
• Very accurate dimensions
• Anodised surface with stylish appearance
• Assembly-friendly
• Compact construction
