C-rail

The so-called C-rail is an alternative for the conductor rail and particularly suitable for a large number of terminals and short distances. It is a galvanized C-profile accommodating special carriers that, upon request, are fitted with ball-bearing wheels. A so-called looped flat cable is attached to these carriers. The conductors inside this cable are placed alongside one another resulting in a flat cable, which is extremely flexible in a single direction. It is a principle often employed on the overhead travel cranes, in between the trolley and switch pendant, but also on the so-called independent mobile control.
