Last summer, Elmec was able to deliver another great project at one of our loyal customers Hydro Extrusions.

Our mechanics have been working at Hydro Extrusions for many years where they do inspections and maintenance, among other things. Elmec's help was called in to deliver a long-life crane. The aluminium factory in Drunen specialises in extruding long profiles and machined components ready for assembly. An aluminium recycling unit is also part of the production site in Drunen.

The long materials crane at Hydro Extrusions transports, as the name suggests, long profiles in the form of long extruded and processed profiles, such as light masts. The crane is used in the logistics process of loading and unloading trucks. A special lifting yoke, combined with a hoisting gear with double cable outlet, guarantee safe and stable throughput. The double girder overhead crane is basically composed of 2 single girder cranes that are interconnected to create a stable double girder overhead crane. The electrical components of control and drive are centrally mounted on a single girder.
This allowed us to neatly prepare and test everything in Elmec's workplace before the girders were transported. On site, the two separate single girders were connected to form one complete double girder crane. The cat has a large track size but is still very compact in terms of construction dimensions, allowing our customer to get extremely close to the walls of the hall.

With good preparation and communication at Elmec and on-site supervision at Hydro Extrusions by our skilled specialists, the assembly of this project went very smoothly.
