What is your company doing to become more sustainable?

Did you know that at Elmec 920 solar panels have been installed on the roof of our beautiful building in Belfeld?

At Elmec, we find sustainability important. That is why we have been working to save energy for many years in order to contribute to the environment. co2 emissions in the Netherlands must be reduced by at least 55% by 2030. The aim is even a 60% reduction. The Netherlands targets to be climate neutral by 2050. By preparing now for a more environmentally friendly policy, which you know that's coming, we are preparing for the future.

“To date, Elmec has already achieved a CO2 reduction of 587.105 kg! During the construction of our beautiful business premises, it was already taken into account that the building could also be energy-friendly in the future.” According to Rob Langen (former director and owner of Elmec).”

22 years ago during the construction of our building, a heat pump installation and extra isolation were installed. So we have not used gas or oil for 22 years, but geothermal energy. In addition, we naturally use electricity, which we have been generating since 2018 through the solar panels installed on our roof. These solar panels were also the most sustainable version of that time. Elmec uses two thirds of the generated energy itself, the remaining energy is supplied back every year. The expected output for this year is 295.000 kW/h.

Elmec also makes extensive use of sustainable cranes and components from DEMAG with an average lifespan of 20 years. As a company, we are on the right track to a more sustainable environment.
